Certified translation

What does "certified" actually mean?
A translator sworn in or authorised before a German court has translated the document, stamped it and signed it, confirming it matches your original word for word.
Will every German authority accept it?
In the large majority of cases, yes — it follows the standard route every German authority is built to expect. If yours has stated an unusual requirement, tell us before we start.
Do I need to send my original document?
No — a clear scan or photo is enough for the translation. Your original stays with you.
Can I get a stamped hard copy, not just a digital file?
Yes — choose it as a delivery option; it's posted by tracked delivery.

Pricing

Why isn't there one flat price for everything?
Because the work genuinely differs — a fixed document, a per-word specialist translation, a per-day interpreting booking, and a per-minute subtitling job aren't the same kind of task.
Is VAT included?
Yes, in every price shown to consumers (19% USt). Business invoices show the breakdown.
What if my project doesn't fit a listed price exactly?
Send us a quote request — we'll confirm the exact price in writing before anything starts.

Our process

How long does a translation take?
Standard is 2–3 business days for certified documents, 3–5 for translation packages; express options are available.
Who actually does the translation?
A qualified linguist, with a second linguist reviewing certified and business work before it’s finished — never a single unchecked pass.
Do you use machine translation?
Only where explicitly agreed and disclosed (MTPE, under Proofreading & Editing) — never silently on certified, legal or medical work.

Confidentiality

What happens to my documents after the translation is done?
They're used only to produce your translation, then deleted on a fixed schedule — ask and we'll tell you exactly when.
Can I get an NDA before sending anything sensitive?
Yes — ask, and we'll send one the same day, free of charge, for individuals and businesses alike.
Who has access to my documents?
Only the linguist assigned to your order and the second reviewer — never a wider pool.

Orders & payment

How do I pay?
Businesses pay by invoice as standard; the checkout also offers a card-payment step (currently a labelled demo/test payment).
Can I cancel an order?
Yes, free of charge, any time before production starts; once started, we charge pro rata for work completed — see Cancellation & Refunds for the full policy.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — tracked post within Germany, the EU, and internationally, shown with price and timeframe at checkout.
Is my payment information safe?
The current checkout is a demo payment step — no real card data is taken, stored, or transmitted anywhere. Business customers can pay by invoice today, which is fully functional.
